the alphabet workout

Oh my goodness, we’ve hit that time of year when everything feels like it’s spinning at full speed—and hitting the gym might feel like an impossible mission. Between work, family responsibilities, and managing all the chaos, it’s no wonder fitness tends to take a backseat. For busy parents like us, finding a way to stay active without adding more stress to our schedules can feel like a pipe dream.

When the local gym becomes too crowded to bear, it’s time to get creative at home or outdoors. That’s when I remembered one of my favorite solutions for staying active during the busiest seasons: the Alphabet Workout! This workout was a hit with my bootcampers back in the day, earning both love and hate in equal measure—but it always got results.

Why Is This the BEST Alphabet Workout for Busy Parents?

Because it’s simple, flexible, and effective! As a parent, you need workouts that adapt to your schedule and don’t require special equipment. This alphabet workout is built entirely around bodyweight exercises, so you can do it anywhere—even while supervising homework or waiting for dinner to cook. Each letter corresponds to an exercise, giving you a full-body workout depending on the word you choose. You can focus on cardio, core, upper body, or lower body—whatever you need that day.

Your A-to-Z Workout Guide

Here’s how it works: each letter of the alphabet is matched to a bodyweight exercise. Use this list to spell out a word and create your personalized workout. Start with something meaningful, like your name, or pick a fun word to challenge yourself. (never tried Super-Kala-Fragalistic-Ex-P-ala-do-shis…as obivously I still don’t know how to spell it)
