Swimming is known as an excellent full body exercise – that is low impact, but it can also be made as a high intensity workout. While many exercisers will get in a pool and do dozens of laps at a steady or even slow pace; but did you know you can opt for cranking up the intensity to get a much better workout in much less time – thus burning more calories and fat for hours after your workout!?! For a bit more fun, get a partner to do this workout with you….a spin off my You-Go-I-Go workout…

Swimming Workout Instructions:

  • First Warm up by swimming a few laps – just enough to get you “warm”
  • Now swim 2 laps as fast as you can at top speed (distance based on your intial conditioning and availability of pool length 25 meters, 50 meters, etc)
  • The second you are done, your workout partner then completes 2 laps as fast as he / she can
  • Alternate for a total of 10 rounds (20 laps)

This workout shouldn’t take much more than 10 minutes.
