Most of us enjoy Mexican food.  Let’s be honest – one of the best comfort foods around.  But when we are thinking about wellness or fitness – there is always a hesitation in choosing Mexican food one way or another.  But to be honest, Mexican food is one of the easiest foods to adapt recipes to a healthier version.

For instance…


  • 1 lb. Jennie-O The Turkey Store Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast
  • 1 packet OLD EL PASO Taco Seasoning mix
  • 4 fl oz. tap water
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 12 LA TORTILLA 99% fat free whole wheat flour tortillas
  • 1 California Avocado

Preheat oven to 400 F. Coat a shallow baking pan with cooking spray.  Preheat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add turkey and cook until cooked through, about 6-8 minutes, breaking up the meat as it cooks.  Add seasoning packet and stir to coat.  Add water and simmer until liquid is absorbed. About 2 minutes.  Spoon a small amount of turkey into the center of each tortilla; roll up tortilla and wrap at ends.  Place flautas in prepared pan and spray with cooking spray. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes.  Top flautas wit hsalsa and avocado slices just before serving.
